If you’re an NU Student looking for opportunities within the local church while making a huge impact in that church’s community, Open Life Church is saving a spot for you on the team. Open Life is a church of people leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus. Each Sunday, Open Life meets in the heart of the city at Bonney Lake High School, at 10 AM.

We’re a mobile church (we setup and tear down each Sunday) that has a number of volunteer teams that make the services happen each week as well as offering Kids Life for children from the ages of birth through Elementary.

Whether you’re looking for a church to fulfill your ministry internship requirements or you’re just looking for a church to get involved in on a more consistent basis, we have significant roles and opportunities for you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Internship Opportunities & Responsibilities

Pastoral/General Ministry Internship

Work under the advisement of Open Life’s Lead Team to learn and help implement all the ministries of Open Life Church.

Participate in Open Life’s Communication Team Meetings to help formulate our Sunday talks and planning for the preaching calendar.

Participate in Open Life Services on a weekly basis, finding a place to focus your energy and helping to improve that area moving forward.

Volunteer on a Serve Team by helping to facilitate the setup and teardown of Open Life’s service in any area on a weekly basis.

Gain unparalleled insight on community engagement

Worship Intern

Work under the advisement of Open Life’s worship director and Lead Team each week to create the set list and order of our weekly service.

Participate in the Open Life Worship team on a weekly basis, depending on skill set and abilities and scheduling of our worship teams.

Volunteer on a Serve Team by helping to facilitate the setup and teardown of Open Life’s Audio system on a weekly basis.

Kids Life Intern

Work under the advisement of Open Life’s Kids Life Director and Lead Team to implement our Kids Life programming Each Sunday.

Participate in Open Life Services on a weekly basis, serving in Kids Life for two weeks and then attending the main service the other two during a typical 4-week month.

Volunteer on a Serve Team by helping to facilitate the setup and teardown of our Kids Life areas each week.

Content/Social Media Intern

Work under the advisement of Open Life’s executive pastor and Lead Team to implement and execute Open Life’s social media and content plan.

Participate in Open Life Services weekly, working to gather content and images for the purpose of sharing across all forms of Open Life social media.

Volunteer on a Serve Team by helping to facilitate the setup and teardown of Open Life’s service specifically for your role, then moving on to assist in other areas.

Sunday

7:55 AM: Arrive at BLHS (leave NU 7:05)
8:00 AM – 12:15 PM: Open Life Service (Setup, Service, Tear Down)
12:30 – 2:00 PM: Lunch with OL Staff
3:00 PM: Arrive Back at NU

Tuesday

1:00 – 2:00 PM* Leadership Class/Team Meeting

Financial Incentives

$800 honorarium per semester

Gas Card for Transportation to and from Open Life Church and events in Bonney Lake.
Carpooling with other NU Students greatly appreciated.

Lunch with the staff on Sunday afternoons provided by Open Life.

Any books/supplies needed for internship will be provided by Open Life.

Access to Open Life resources for implementation of internship responsibilities and ideas implemented during your time at Open Life.

HOSPITALITY

KIDS LIFE

Leaders and Assistants (Nursery, Pre-School, Elementary).

COMMUNICATION

Prayer, Welcome, Announcements, Giving Talk.

WORSHIP TEAM

Vocals, Guitar (acoustic, electric, bass), Drums.

ADMINISTRATION

Data Entry, Follow Up, Planning.
